Cooperi likes cool semi shade environment, and grows mainly in spring and autumn. It is resistant to drought but not cold. It should avoid high temperature, humidity and sun exposure. It is afraid of shade and soil ponding. The sandy loam with loose air permeability and smooth drainage is suitable.
